Hi newlands. I have seen a few people on here that have said they sleep in chair. I hope I never have to do it because I would find it so uncomfortable with my fibro and arthritis.
Many on here sleep sat up, propped up by lots of pillows. I can't sleep propped up either.
As for the days all seeming the same, I know what you mean and for me, that's not caused by my COPD, yet, but, by my fibromyalgia. Being stuck in day after day is bound to make the days seem all the same.
I especially miss Friday's (Pre- sickness.) because it was payday and marked the start of the weekend, when we would do something as a treat. It gave me such a sense of purpose. xx
I have slept in a chair since January, when I came out of hospital after an accident with badly swollen legs with fluid. When I try to sleep in a bed I get this urge to sit up with my feet on the floor. The doctor says it is the fluid from my legs travelling up my body and affecting my heart and lungs. Even now that my legs are a lot less swollen due to taking 5 diuretics a day and having my legs bound to get rid of the fluid, I can't sleep in a bed. I do put my legs on a stool but can't keep them there all night! It doesn't cause shortness of breath, just an overwhelming urge to put my feet down! Keep smiling
Hi Carole yes that's just how I feel ,needing to put my feet down
I treated myself just before Christmas to a lovely recliner chair it's a big help ,I have had to keep the remote out of the way because when the great grandchildren come they love that chair and so far they haven't discovered what it does
Me too Dorothy, about five years now. I can't lie down AND breathe. I have a recliner and a separate foot stool and now I have got used to it it's quite comfortable.
