Morning folks not in a jokey mood this morning, a really lovely man and a god friend who I spent several years with working both on and under the sea passed away yesterday in Derriford hospital Plymouth.
I first met Mike in the late 1960's when I joined a submarine at Faselane in Scotland and we did several long 2 month trips under the water on patrol working together on the same watch. This was over a period of 3 years, then we both moved on to different subs but both stationed in Faselane so kept in close contact right up till we both retired from the navy in the 80's and since then we remained friends. He leaves a lovely wife Barbara a son two daughters who I watched grow up and grand children. So no joke today my thoughts are with Mikes family .
Speak later love Fred xx

such sad news, Fred. some friends are so special, they leave us bereft. Im remembering special friends lost now, but try to think we were lucky - we knew those special people and they enriched our lives. God Bless, Love, Iris x
Good morning Fred. I am so sorry about the loss of your friend who you have known for such a long time. Its awful when we lose someone and its hard to take in at times, As Iris says, at least we are fortunate in having knowing such people and you will have so many happy and fond memories to look back on.
Take care, and I hope you can find some comfort knowing he is at peace, and in a better place.
My sympathy to Mikes family and hope they can find strength in each other.
I am so sorry Fred. When such good friend like that dies I think it takes part of us with them and leaves a aching empty space where they once were. Nothing I can say will it any better but I'll be thinking of you Fred and saying a little prayer for you and your old friend. Sara xx
Oh dear I am so sorry for the loss of your friend Fred. x

Sorry for the loss of your long time friend. What good buddies you must have been . What great talks you must have shared. Just know I'm thinking of you.
Good morning Fred sorry to hear the sad news about your friend Mike , understand how you must feel.Tears are in order today sorry I can't send you a tissue on line xxx
Sorry to here that Fred. I can truly empathise as I've lost all my friends in the past few years. Not the same I know, but we're all here for you. Try to keep smiling, we need your cheerfulness. XX
As we get older this happens more and more often but it never gets easier to take. Most of my dearest friends have passed through the veil - ready to greet me on the other side I hope and believe. So sorry Fred, but he'll live on in your heart.
