Hi nice to meet you and welcome to the site. It is a hell of a shock to be diagnosed with a lung disease but you do come to terms with it and learn to cope. There is a wealth of information and knowledge on this site so stick with us.
If you are in the UK you can ring BLF (number under the red balloon) and they will send you out loads of bumph. They also have respiratory nurses there if you have any questions and a benefits advisor as well.
Please do not google indiscriminately as you will scare yourself silly, stick to recognised sites like this one and the NHS site.
The other thing is to make sure you take your prescribed meds and learn to take your lungs seriously and deal with any exacerbations promptly to avoid further lung damage. The golden rule is if you are unsure there is a problem, seek medical assistance - better to be safe than sorry. x
Many thanks fir your information. I was worried as I have other problems to cope with and this is yet another incurable one but plod on and keep taken the pills.

Needing to get meds right is my first priority, then I gather myself together & do the rest! It is very scary being diagnosed, my experience was "oh, you have copd, here's an inhaler" I'm still learning how to navigate the site & to read posts etc.
Take care,
Kay
