Yes, I am afraid so. I felt horrible for about six months but it WAS worth it. I wish they had told me what to expect - it was the only thing that was disappointing about the process. Do persevere.

Do persevere - definitely well worth it - the benefits of giving up are HUGE.........xxx

Hi Chelsea, have you tried the patches? They helped me a lot, took the edge off. Keep trying you will feel so much better. Love LeeLee. X

Hi Chelsea,

There are such huge benefits to quitting, but it does take time. You will be fed up with people saying that! You ask why people did not warn you....you might have decided not to quit! The main thing to remember is that everyone experiences different symptoms when they quit. The big thing is to be really determined to beat your addiction, and to stay positive.

Stay strong and whatever it takes, just don't smoke!!!

i stopped 12 years ago , it was difficult but you have to stick at it : it cost me a small fortune, i was "eating "

"a box of those liquorice imps every day , they helped me quite a lot and it is worth it in the end

I packed up 24th April 2007 due to ill health as my body organs all started to shut down. Since then have been classed as disabled. Now on oxygen most of the time . Please do try to keep going only to help yourself xx

As everyone has already said, it is well worth staying with it and off the smoking. I found the plastic cigs very helpful. Something to chew on when answering the phone or working the computer and so on. Smoking does damage gums and perhaps you are going through a healing process. I wish you strength and promise you that you will one day be so pleased you stopped.

You HAVE to stay off them, smoking is no longer an option if you want to survive. If all the NRT fails switch to an e-cig - it worked for me and I did 20 a day for 60 years and had failed with everything else. It's the tar in tobacco cigs that affects your lungs, not the nicotine. Sweden has the lowest incidence of lung cancer in the developed world and they use snus - banned in the rest of the EU because it affects the profits of the tobacco companies, just like e-cigs!

keep up the non smoking regime it does take time to get this evil stuff out of your system you have withdrawal and it wants that weed but as a 40 a day man I am so glad I gave up when I did 1992!

Keep it up!

yes i must reiterate the previous posts, stopping smoking is a must, but is very difficult indeed, these feelings i got as well, i think its your mind trying to tell you to smoke, but when you weigh up the odds, its certainly worth going through as i promise in time you will feel loads better,, and a time when you will say [hard for you to believe this now] "im so glad i stopped" keep at it my friend, don't waste 2 months, by the weed beating you,, best of luck

and best regards, i hope these feelings pass soon,,, jimmy

Hi again Chelsea,

I used to talk to the person on my shoulder...I called him the 'Nicodemon'...he was always telling me I could just have one cigarette. etc. Then I developed my Guardian Angel who sat on the other shoulder and argued with the Nicodemon. It must have been amusing to the few spectators who witnessed this!
