Firstly can I just say that I have changed my username from mw77 to Mikefever. I have server COPD, for a while now I have been experiencing a swollen stomach which is quite painful . Does anyone suffer from this?. If so can someone tell me how can I get some relief ? Could it be due to trapped air?
Does anyone notice after they have led down for a while when they get they are very short of breath?, I find I always do. Hope everyone is well.

Hi Mike I have not had this so I am afraid I don't know the answer. You need to see your doctor/consultant.
If it is due to trapped air it may be relieved by doing some breathing exercises. Have you tried this? x
Thanks Coughalot 1.I have had a ulra scan on my stomach, they found nothing wrong. Yes I do breathing exercises, they do not seem to help. I just thought that air is trapped in the air sacks , it might swell the stomach swell ?
Hi yes I have those problems , I now have a bed surport where my pillows go on and it keeps me more up right, worth looking at when it's difficult to breathe, and for trapped wind which is very uncomfortable I use peppermints the strong ones it seems to be doing the trick at the moment, and I have the barrel tum too, we all after a while, it's all to do with the medine,s we take, I hope this helpes you
COPD coupled with bowel problems may be indicative of a very serious genetic disorder called Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency. Very rare but very bad and often overlooked.
I have had problems with swelling for years its like going to the pub drinking 10 pints and not going to the toilet but never associate it with COPD and always used Enows it like alka salsa.
