I have emphysema chronic Bronchitic, i start having pain in my lung ,i am going to see consultant next month ,they want to remove a part of my lung ,that mean i will not have COPD???

You will still have COPD but, put simply, the operation increases the space in your chest so that the healthy parts of your lung can expand a bit, and so you should not be as breathless. Either talk to your doctor or ring the BLF for more details. Good luck. x

No it is called Lung Volume Reduction Surgery. If part of your lung is diseased it can be removed to help the rest of your lung function better. I have a friend who had half a lung removed for this reason. She was in hospital for about a week and took around 6 weeks/2 months to recover. She said she feels so much better for it and her breathing is greatly improved. She is so glad she had it done. Good luck with it. x
