How on earth do you cope with the paint fumes??????
Same here how do you do all that and cope with the smell from the paint, it makes my chest bad and isn't too good for the joints now. Have not decorated for a few years now due to health . But well done if you can manage it I take my hat off to you. It will look good when the tree goes up and santa visits (smiles)
Well done 1968 on getting all that done!! Could you come and do mine now please,? pretty please?
You sound very excited about Santa too, so hope he is good to you at Christmas.
I too am wondering about the paint fumes, and I assuming you wore a mask of some sort. I got these cheap ones, which you can't even breath with, but I know there are superior ones out there.
hugs from Huggs xxxx
Wish I had the energy to walk from bedroom to bathroom, even with oxygen! Good luck
Even paints with low VOCs have fumes and bad smells, can't imagine how you managed this and all in a weekend
I can tolorate low smell emulsiin but NOT GLOSS oh no that makes me ill plus itmakes me physically sick too but well done for managing x
Wow what a lot you got done. I love Santa
Well done 1968. I used to do all the decorating in the house. I haven't been able to though for about five years due to fibro. Luckily, my son does it for me now.
A bowl of water with onion slices floating on the top is alleged to absorb paint smells - I say alleged because I didn't find it made all that much difference!
Well done 1968!
I'm jealous. Can't even do any Christmas decorating this year. Too puffed.
You deserve a real treat from Santa this year.
Sara
Well done I used to do all the decorating I can't even walk through Debenhams for the smell of perfume let alone paint I would be on the floor gasping for air
Just like my husband!!! X
well done 1968, im just jealous lol i wish someone would do mine,, i would need to move out for 6 months until the fumes went. :),,, take care now, hope santa,s good to you,, jimmy
yep you can get water based gloss paint, now. Not sure if it smells any better than oil& turps based but it ought to.
What we could do with is a thing like Which? for copds - it could test all the paints, fabric softeners, hairsprays, perfumes, anti perspirant (gets my lungs), dogs, cats -etc & report back which don't cause us any probs... how about that for a good idea.... that isn't gonna happen
well done 1968'Like most on here I havnt even got the energy let alone survive the smells .Happy Xmas
