Thanks for that Huggs.
I have not long posted a question asking if it's normal to feel fuzzy and light headed when sinus's are playing up. If you know anything regarding this problem I'd be grateful if you would let me know. xxx
Hi there,
Sinusitis is not nice as you are finding out. It can lead you to feel fuzzy and light headed along with headache, pain behind your eyes, all blocked up and feeling thoroughly miserable. I have found the best thing to do is to have a steam inhalation. If you have a steamer, you can use that, or failing that a large bowl of boiling water to which you add a small menthol crystal, albas oil ( just a drop) or another essential oil such as eucalyptus or tea tree. There are others, but you can look them up. Sit steamer or bowl on a stable flat surface, and place a large towel over your head and shoulders tent style to keep the steam in, and bend over and take in slow deep breathes. Have plenty of tissues handy, as you will need them!! Also if you are having a shower, the steam of that will help a little. You can do inhalations as many times as you need to and take paracetamol if it doesn't interact with your other medication for headache and general aches and pains. The steam inhalations will definitely help, but you will probably need an antibiotic for sinusitis. See how you are tomorrow and if you are not a lot better, then see your doc tomorrow. Hope you feel better soon. Take care.

Thanks so much for that Huggs. The problem is I can't tolerate steam. I used to be fine and grew up using it when I had bouts of Bronchitis. However, since being diagnosed with emphesymia (I know I've spelt that wrong) and Bronchiectasis there are many things I can't tolerate and that includes steam.
Thanks so much, I feel a bit better knowing that it is normal with sinus. I'll pop to gp in a couple of days xxx
Hi again,
Sorry you cannot tolerate steam, as that is a problem. Have you got a nasal spray or anything like that? If you feel any worse or develop other symptoms then see your GP or walk in centre immediately. With your lung problems, you cannot afford to take chances, and I don't think you should wait a couple of days, as it doesn't take long for that infection in your sinuses to make their way down to your lungs. Honestly, I wouldn't wait. If you don't want to see about it today, then definitely go tomorrow. Sinusitis is a bacterial infection usually, although it can be caused by a virus, and with your medical conditions an antibiotic is needed quickly. Do you have any rescue meds in your house. You could even phone the out of hours service for advice, and see what they say. Feel better soon.

Hi Huggs
Yes, I do have my emergency antibiotics. Also I have a nasal rinse, which I have been using. I've had a bite to eat and began my meds. Sometimes I just hope it's a bad day I'm having, and once I've had a good sleep i'll wake up fine. But that isn't always the case is it?
Anyway, I'm sure i'll feel the benefit soon.
Thank you so much for your support. Take care. xxxx
You are very welcome mustcarryon. I know what you mean when you say, you hope its just a bad day, but it really isn't. Keep drinking plenty of fluids as well, and hopefully the antibiotics will kick in soon. See how you feel tomorrow, and if you are unsure go and get checked out. It won't do any harm and will put your mind at rest. Also some antibiotics are more suited for certain types of infections. Hope you feel much better soon. Take care,
