Look where I went today!
Hey Dall05!: Look where I went today! - Lung Conditions C...
Hey Dall05!
Wow what a view! Hope Dall sees this and replies. Take care xxx
Hey Struggle you did it! it seems there are two crazy healthunlockeders who walk the Malverns now .
Did you walk up from the Blackhill car park or the kettle sings and how did you get on on your way up?
You took a great photo from the top and it seems I have real competition in the best view category so I best get out and get snapping.
You've really made my day Struggle and put a great big smile on my face. Well done you!!
Tony.
Hi!
I'm afraid I cheated a little, Tony, and walked up from 'The Kettle Sings'. I was very nervous about how much I'd actually be capable of, plus I had my dog with me - she's a whippet who was spayed less than 10 days ago and I was afraid of pushing her too hard so soon after surgery. I went well equipped, with my inhaler, my 'phone, my camera, a bottle of water, a bag of crisps (!) ... and my son, just in case I should have an attack of the vapours! However, I needn't have worried. Although I certainly did get breathless from time to time it was only a 'normal' breathlessness, with the greater problems being given to me by my rather under used leg muscles! Not only was it a lovely walk, with quality time spent with my son, and beautiful views at the top, it was also a timely reminder that I AM capable of such things and should stop my fear restricting me physically. I have you to thank for that, so, thank you! My son took a few photos of me at the top as my 'evidence' so once I've received them from him I'll post them here, probably under the subject heading 'Malvern Evidence'!
Thanks again,
Fern
Hi Fern, you didn't cheat by walking up from the 'kettle sings' as the path up from there is steeper than that from the Black Hill car park so even more well done to you.
Its amazing what you can do once you lose the fear and get your pacing right, I have just been out for a walk today and found it very hard going so I slowed a little and still got the job done. As usual I feel so much better for it now and I am looking forward to Sunday lunch at the pub later with the family.
Just think what you'll be capable of when you have strengthened your leg muscles some more.
Thanks for taking action from reading my posts, that's exactly what I was hoping for.
Tony.
Hi Struggle, What a grand view, Hope you had a lovely day. Take care nannyb xxx
Hi Struggle, what glorious views. You & young Tony, live in a beautiful area.Congrats on making it to the top,Tony needs a bit of competion, lol! Happy walking, hugs Wendells xxx
Hi Wendells, it looks as though I've got my work cut out to keep up so I had better get some training in.
Your right about how lucky we are to live here though, those Malvern hills are such hard work to get up but are very good for us too, I call it training at altitude
Young Tony xxx
Haha well actually as it's a 45 minute drive for me, I suppose I should challenge myself more locally eg Robinswood Hill ( thecityofgloucester.co.uk/t... and then I can wave to Tony on The Malverns!
I'll take my binoculars with me next time, there's a good view of the Gloucester area from the British Camp.
Argh! I've lost count of the times I've tried to upload an image but all I get is a message telling me there is something wrong with my image (no there is not!) and to try again ...
It could be using to many kb of memory. I've had this problem in the past, if you can find a 'link' and post it, that will do the trick.
Beautiful, if you use twitter you should post it as a #breathtakingmoment, mentioning @lunguk and @virginballoon then they will donate £1 to lung disease research in the uk
Hmm, I DO use Twitter, but for work purposes really. I'll have a think about that one as I'd certainly like to help contribute. Thanks for making me aware of it.
Well done, keep it going, it is so good hearing positive comments
Is there a lift or escalators?
Haha! No but quite a few benches!
What a lovely photo and very well done x
What a fantastic view your so lucky to have that on your door step
