Life is a roller coaster and when you are young it ascends so slowly that the days seem endless waiting for the time when you will be old enough to do some awaited task.
Then, suddenly having reached the summit, the descent is so fast that you are left breathless, wondering how that time passed so swiftly.
I now live a leisurely life style, everything being taken in its own time, but am also becoming more and more convinced that the hours are getting shorter, almost as though someone out there was lopping off the odd minute or two when I haven’t been looking.
How I wish I had been more eager throughout my lifetime, to have treasured and been more observant of all those wasted minutes that should have been lived not wasted like some senseless, discarded hangover.
I guess I can’t slow down the passage of time but can learn to be aware of it and make the most of what we get.
As I write there are a pair of robins at the bird bath in the pouring rain, that alone is a picture to cheer up anyone in my book, so on that note I am off for my lunchtime nap.
Enjoy the rest of your day.
Allan.
