I spent the afternoon at my dads today, its a place I go not only to visit my dad but also to recharge my batteries. I always return feeling better in body and mind.
Today after a stroll around the garden I set off on a walk up the lane, its my first real walk since the Abscess operation, my lungs have clogged due to the lack of exercise so I didn't expect things to go well but to my surprise I wasn't so bad. Maybe the scenery and good weather took my mind off all the huffing and coughing, I wasn't alone on my walk, there was a flock of long tailed tits following in the hedgerow alongside me, the road side was lined with wild flowers and buzzards circled ahead, probably sensing a meal if I were to keel over.
I purchased a bottle of home made apple and mango juice from outside the Malt house and left the payment in the honesty box, you just gotta love country life haven't you.
Downhill now all the way home, mission accomplished, survive walk and clear lungs so it was back to dads and then home for a barbecue.
I cried a few tears of joy on my way home in the car whilst away from the family and thought how lucky I am to still be able to enjoy the simple pleasures in life.
Of course it could have been just been some grit in the eye. Don't be afraid to show a little emotion healthunlockeders

Tony perhaps those buzzards just knew they would get a tit bit from your good grace as they sensed your appreciation of your luck and they we're not displaying due to sensing your weaknesses.
I had a lovely display out of my bedroom window this morning by about a dozen and half pigeons which impressed me, I hate to say it but, much more then the regular morning practice displays I see by the Red Arrows out of RAF Scampton whose displays cost loads compared to the few worms and tit bits the pigeon's displays cost... LOL
Your Dads looks such a lovely peaceful place, can see why you go to recharge, and yes its good to show our emotions, no matter which sex we are, thankyou for sharing yesterday. xx
what a lovely positive story. It looks like nature and a bit of family togetherness can work a bit of magic. You just have to make the effort despite the pain to do things. I hope you continue to improve and take more smashing photos. You've made me want to get out and about this lovely morning. xx.
What a beautiful day it was to be out in the sunshine was wonderful. I have not been out for a while and I also went out into the countryside to visit my grandson, it was so quiet, except for the birds and so peaceful I could have stayed all day.
It's good to see you are getting back on your feet again.
Hi Tony, glad to hear you are up and striding out again. Great news and what a lovely photo, looks like a beautiful area. Emotions are all part of life and nobody should be afraid to show them. Pete sometimes gets a bit of grit in his eye too. Funny that. You take care and lots of love, Carole. xxxxxxxxx
Thanks Tony,I get a bit low now and again but posts like yours remind me just how lucky I am.Life can be a struggle but a bit of sunshine, the birds and the beasties is what it,s all about.I too suffer from the old grit in the eye syndrome but don,t tell anybody.Good luck and keep smiling, all the best.D.("-")
Nice to hear from you Tony. Your walk in the country makes me want to get out and about. Unfortunately, I messed up my oxygen cylinder delivery over the Bank Holiday so I can't go far. I will turn my oxygen concentrators up to 10lpm and that should allow me to potter in the garden this afternoon. Thanks for keeping us all positive.
I'm a country boy & know exactly what a walk in the lanes can do to the spirits.
At a guess I'd say your dad's rather delightful cottage is in/near God's own Marches country?
No wonder you came back from your walk feeling uplifted and it was great that this was your first real walk since your op. Having lived in the countryside and villages for most of my life I could relate so well to your description of the lane and the wildlife around you. I believe nature and being attuned to it can bring a healing all of it's own.
Great photo of your dad in the garden....Lovelight xxx
