Hi Tigershay. Glad to hear you're back at work. I went back on Monday after 7 weeks. Three problems arose- a child in my class has cystic fibrosis so had to move to the other class the other class has a child with bronchiectasis so we thought that makes sense just put her with me. But OH NO we can't be in the same room. Consequently I now have to come out of class straight away. Why is this? I feel like it's been 2 weeks since diagnosis and I thought I'd put things in place for coming out of class next academic year which my head was really supportive with. I thought I had time to prepare for this big change but everything is happening so quickly within 2weeks of diagnosis I can't get my head round it. Thought I'd share that with you. Hope your littlies are behaving themselves! Xx
Oh dear why such speed ?? Im on phased return shorter hours till summer hols. Im doing Mon and Fri 8.30-1 so not bad at all. Mind i dont think people fully understand why as i look totally normal and other big thing they dont realise that anyone with cold needs to keep well away whats a minor few off days for them could knock me for six !! Think a staff memo will have to be sent out nxt week wishing you well keep in touch love judith xxx
Hi Tigershay. Your phased return sounds ideal! My head actually made it really clear to other members of staff not to come near if they have cold or sniffles. Thus was at a staff meeting so all were present. Obviously she asked if it was alright with me first. The reason for such speed was that the child with bronchiectasis saw her consultant on Wednesday and her mum explained the situation. The consultant then phoned my head and explained the seriousness of putting us in the same room. I'm really lucky that my head is very supportive. She just keeps saying she wants to keep us all safe and she's a real stickler for doing things according to protocol and policy! So Monday heralds a new something not sure what yet! Have a good weekend xx
Oh good your heads on the ball . The head in our ajoining school is very similar. Im pleased i can build up slowly as friday nearly killed me !!!! Have a good weekend hope all goes well nxt week xxx
