I am on ambulatory oxygen using it mostly when out and about but notice sometimes the 02 has a smell with it. Does anyone else notice this?

Yes, my oxygen has a slight smell. After a while I stop noticing it but it can be quite strong when I first switch on.

Only smell I notice is when I change onto a new cannula.

I have been an oxygen user for quite some time and have never noticed a smell, except when using a new cannula, which can smell for a while.

Thanks for replies can't relate to new cannula but happyfeet. Strong at first then either get used to it or reduced as cylinder is half used. I may have to have a condenser and use for 15 hours so was hoping it will not effect me then because I do find it sickly.

Will take note from now on to see if it's new cannula if so I could wipe it with a damp cloth which may help thanks all.
