As if we didn't know already he confirms it's a cost saving exercise, but he wants to help disabled people not harm them ! Think it's safe to say " the mouth wash isn't making it "

You can say that again tigerhouse. Saw him this morning on Andrew Marr. Just as he was getting challenged by Polly Toynbee the programme was brought to an end. Same thing happened on Question Time a little while ago when Owen Jones was challenging him over welfare cuts and IDS certainly met his match but time up on programme. He just manages to wriggle free by time out all the time.

He is an odious little man and I hope he rots in hell along with all his bullingdon (bully) cronies. They should all spend eternity there facing those whom they have killed!

Ones he has killed dont deserve eternity with him. I am paying for mistakes in my life forever with a murderer and cronies in hell is more than paying my share.

If he really wanted to help the disabled, why did he close Remploy?

I am going to throw in a curve ball I am afraid. I have not been treated well in any way on my claim for help/benefit and I do agree that the disability card of making out that most are scroungers is so wrong but it is a very small section of the benefit pot. The biggest part is for pensions but they are more likely to vote so they keep it quite and do not attack them.

I do agree that a person on benefit should not get more than what most working people earn! They have highlighted people getting £25,000 in all of the benefits that is were I draw the line. They could of saved £100 million not employing ATOS and given the money to NHS to do the tests. They could save millions on installing IT equipment that works. They could show the way and not vote them selves rises higher than what they deem I can live on!

This subject is very raw to me. First, pensioners have paid all their working lives to get their pensions. They did not get this country in debt. I think the attacks on them are awful. Everyday there is a dig at them for, being a drain on NHS, or living too long. These lovely people deserve respect.!!!!! My brother has had over the years, 5 kidney transplants. They have all failed. He has been dialysing for 10 yrs now and that is killing him. He has had to have a triple heart bypass, and is now waiting for his whole leg to be amputated. He has been told this surgery is potentially fatal for him, but so is the infection that is cursing through his body. He receives full rate DLA and social benefits. His wife is his carer/ nurse. She dialysis him at home. He cannot walk, and is slowly vegetating because of all the toxins in his body. The dialysis is not as effective as it once was. For his amputation he will be in hospital for 2-3 mths. His wife will lose her carers allowance, and they lose other benefits too. Also DLA is affected. They are scared to put the heating on as utility bills are a luxury, and to top the lot, my brother had to go to an interview to be assessed for eligility to work. !!!!! The raw bit for me is, we all know someone who is fiddling the system. These people are expert at it and know how to play the game. These people don't get caught often enough for my liking. To grass them up myself is not a risk I want to take. Sorry for the long rant, but it really makes my blood boil. For the record, I do not receive any benefits, even though I am entitled to. That doesn't make me a martyr, I would if my husband needed me to.

Now there's a certain Ms Miller could teach us all a lot about fiddling - and I don't mean the Andre Rieu type!

Benefit fraud amounts to a tiny drop in the ocean when it comes to the overall budget - most of which is spent on useless military interventions, weapons obsolete before they're delivered and, of course, sheer waste.
