I think it is prescription only - the respiratory nurse prescribed it for my husband. TAD xx
Thanks Tadaw , only I think I may benefit as for the last 3 weeks I ve had a chest infection and after 2 lots of antbiotics I'm hoping it will clear. But find it difficult to clear mucus at the best of times my cough is really bad too and my mouth is really raw due to sucking so many cough sweets. Tried all other remedies but not very useful think it's more to do with the IPF.
Both the previous posters are correct, Mucodyne can only be prescribed by your doctor.
It is supposed to be very good, but I don't know yet as I have only just started to use it.
Tom.
I will ask my GP next time I need to go which hopefully will not be too soon , there are lots of things I didn't know about until I joined BLF and it has helped me so much reading the posts and questions on the forum . Thanks to you all for all the info you share with others it must help lots of people like me.
Get in touch with BLF or respiritory nurse about "huffing technique " it has really helped me shifting stubborn mucus. I take mucodyne on a regular bais as well.

I have been on pulmonary rehab and shown breathing exercise s to help with mucus and controlling breathlessness but I tend to be very dry so huffing didn't do much for me . So I think maybe Mucodyne may help clear my lungs and loosen my cough ,when I go to the GP it's usually a different one each time and never suggested help for mucus. But now I know more about my illness I will ask to try it. Thanks
