I saw that post and commented. From what I can remember, old fashioned names used by older consultants. I didn't know there were pink inhalers. Just nicknames! No offence meant. xx

Pink puffer and blue bloater were used by doctors to describe people who have particular respiratory problems. I would have been a 'blue bloater' - eg my lips and the area around them go blue through lack of oxygen. Pink puffers, if I recall corectly, have butterfly shaped cheek marks and puff when they breathe - also something to do with oxygen Someone else may describe it better

Hi paperback yes they are unfortunate names indeed.it was my consultant eons ago that mentioned it to me suggesting I would be a pink puffer.Having read Toci's post and the little quiz thingy I dont fit into either camp.and im quite happy about that dont need anything else for the grey matter to worry about getting another label ,dont think so. :) Janexxx

I wish I hadn't done the quiz, but I can never resist! I am definitely a blue bloater and I really didn't like what they had to say about it :-(

However - I am two thirds of the way through a PR course which is making me feel fitter, we've just booked our next trip in the motorhome, and the family are all visiting at the weekend to celebrate yet another birthday, so sucks to that doctor in ICU who told us 6 years ago my outlook was poor and bah humbug to all quizzes that don't tell me I'm going to live forever! :-) :-)

Don't worry Jabber, their ideas are about as outdated as the terms they used. :)

They told me in 2007 that I would only live 3 years. :P

Hi Paperback, i think it means this pink puffers are people who have empheysema and blue bloaters are people with bronchitis.I once had to call an ambulance and the paramedic referred to me as a pink puffer ! Luckily i have a sense of humour, its all to do with the way we breathe i think.

Hi All

Stupid quiz! Idiots! Typical to try and categorise by a few questions without any alternative results. Grrrrr.

I don't fall into either so have decided to be defiantly and definitely a sunshine person - gold and orange for me!! (I am a Leo!)
