has anyone had these generic white tabs is there much difference?
have just finished 5 days prednisolon... - Lung Conditions C...
have just finished 5 days prednisolone plus amoxctllin 500 instead of the red caps I usually get these were small white tabs
Evening
I always have the white ones, my brother in law had the red ones but they made him ill. Wonder what the difference is.

the red tabs dissolve in lower intestines the difference with white tabs is they are a lot cheaper so my doc wont prescribe the red ones as she has been told not to prescribe them
The red 1s are ec coated for people wth tummy probs the white 1s get stuck in my tonsils make me bawk then reach my tummy & burn as i suffer from gastristis & reflux the red are better for me.
The white don't have a coating so can cause indigestion type symptoms. Omeprozole is usually prescribed to protect your stomach. Maybe have a word with your GP.
I won't have the white ones they cause too much reflux asked my doctor to change my prescription so it says enteric coated (red gastro resistant) so no mistakes with the chemist now.

I find the tiny red ones are much better than the white ones I need at least two courses of them
I was on the red ones for ages, then got a note in my prescription bag that they were changing to white ones as they are cheaper. Thank you for your posts about indigestion, I have acid reflux as well but I have not been given omeprazole. I used to get Gaviscon but they changed that to Peptac liquid as that was also cheaper. Going to ask for red steroids in future didn't realize about reflux. Thanks for help. Cheryl
do any of you kind people ever have trouble sleeping when on your meds a.b + steroids last time that iwent on them i felt that i had an energy boost . it was 4 days before i went to bed . i just was not tired
hi Frank65 yes I am the same cant sleep been a lot on here with the same, full off energy but after I finish with the pred back to normal just how they work with some people.
I find omeprozole is very good I no longer get any reflux or heartburn. It's important to take tablets with plenty of water to help them dissolve quickly into your system. Check the leaflet information as to whether the pills should be taken with food or not. It can make a difference.
