can anyone tell me if they know anything about a chronic raised hemi diaphragm and lung function that is dropping

My docs wont tell me why my gut winds me when i bend over or why i have pop belly

But it was one of my first symtoms aswel as breathing problems .. yep will reduce lung function but i assumes it will settle back down just watch for infections

A dont know what causes it .. Migh be waight gain but could be anything

Sorry, i'd like to help but have no idea, and presumably others don't either with the lack of responses. I looked it up but didn't really understand the explanations, and it seems to be caused by many different things. Certainly with copd, which i and many others here have, a malfunctioning diaphragm will have a bad effect on breathing as its the main muscle involved with making this happen. In copd the diaphragm is flattened compared to normal.

I'm in the same boat as Daz, but I know I have a umbilical hernia caused through violent coughing trying to expel mucus. Nobody seems very interested, Doctor or hospital ! My waistline goes up and down by six inches at will making it much harder to breath !
