Sputum sample

I have to take a sputum sample into the docs tomorrow before 11.30.

I have difficulty producing anything early in the morning but am ok in the afternoon.

If I do a sample this afternoon will it be o.k. to take to docs in the morning and do I have to keep it in the fridge.

Advice please :-)

Not sure about that one, sure someone else will know. But if it was me I would do it when you can and keep it in the fridge as you say. Good luck x

Keep it in the fridge. Most surgeries have samples collected late mornings, so you will need to get it in early. Make sure your details are on the label.

Are you sure you're surgery only has one collection hun? Ours has one midday and one about 4.30-5pm. Might be worth a check.

Pete has always had to do a sputum sample first thing which is not a problem for him. If he has kept one and taken it later then they will not use it so each GP is different I suppose. You can but try pollyjj. xx

Thay said i could do mine with nebulised hypertonic sailine if a was having trouble

Think thay got more than thay bargained for

Mine all come back clear why am i not surprised after all its asbestos fibers sticking in my lungs given me jip
