Hi, Have you had your blood pressure checked? My husband was suffering with very bad headaches - his blood pressure reading was high, given a tablet one a day - headaches have really decreased. It could also be a lack of oxygen - if your sats are very low I believe that could cause a headache but a call to the helpline would clarify. Take care. TAD x
too right
Morning GIBBO I have headache with this infection at the min, never did before though, I do not hoover or carry things cos I am not able, you ask blf nurse click on red balloon and many others on site will be able to answer you aswell, take care Joan x
I think, and this might be completely wrong, that its often to do with the amount of Carbon Dioxide you produce. I was quite bad with these after exercise or just general things and then I went to see a respitatory physio who explained this to me and who then taught me how to breathe normally again (those of us with lung problems tend to alter our breathing and use only the top third of our lungs) and they have stopped. A course of PR might be beneficial for you. You might want to speak to your GP.

You're quite right in linking up some headaches to carbon dioxide (I'm a retainer) although I've had headaches with some migraine attacks for most of my life. Have noticed that since being put on ambulatory oxygen lately the headaches seemed to increase. The assessment nurse thought maybe too much OXYGEN ( I think this can also make it difficult to get rid of Co2) so has put me on just 1 litre per min. Now trying this out until next visit x
as others have adviced,gp or blf, I don't get them yet, bernice

Hi Gibbo....Yep, these activities almost always bring on or increase an existing headache. It could be connected to the copd but have you thought about having your neck x-rayed ? I was given an MRI scan on my neck and although the pain could have been worse the scan scan showed cervical spondylosis which is notorious for causing headaches, etc.
