Hello, my question is, does any one know a way to make the nose and face tubes from an air condenser look less alien?

Wear a Burqa?

Hello Grannyof6, Not sure the above message is helpful! I have no idea how to help you my husband has just started to use oxygen. Hope others can help or perhaps the BLF helpline have suggestions. TAD x

Thanks, but I don't think I'm disciplined enough for a Burqa!

I have just started the oxygen and have to use it 18 hours a day. There are tubes everywhere it seems, I suppose I will get used to it eventually.

Grannyof6 - dont like these burkhas - what if you want to sneeze or have extreme catarrh pouring forth, and cant get at your nose. What if you want to remove some gunge. Not good!!!

There are oxyview glasses and I believe coloured oxy tube also, just so you can get colour coordinate if you fancy blue or orange highlights ever ;)

I know about these from US based websites, I am not sure you can get them in UK yet.

Link below for oxyview glasses if interested:

With respect, I would only get stuff like this from the UK. Less probs if things are not right and you need to know the firm.

Purchase is optional not compulsory. Just offering some suggestions as we do. Not sure Granny will think its less alien or not. ;)

Hi Granny. You do indeed get used to it. You are right, it does seem a bit alien but before long you won't even notice it. I felt very odd with mine at first but that soon passes. Now I have even gone back to chatting up the girls.

Love and understanding from Bobby xxx

Thank you everyone, will look up the site and see what those glasses look like or may be shall bide my time until I feel alien when not wearing these tubes.

Thank you all for your replies, I hadn't realised what an amazing thing it is to talk to others with the same problems!

I put my head through the loop in the cannula so that the tube hangs from the back rather than over my ears with both my concentrator and my portable tank. I don't think this is so noticeable and, as I wear glasses as well, the cannula used to fall off my ears easily! Hope this helps. Keep smiling.

So glad it helped, I am sat here with mine on like that and they will stay that way until 8am. This way they don't slip off in the night! Keep smiling
