Could this be the effects of coming off the preds?

Have just started to wean myself off the preds. Was on 35mg per day and over the last 6 weeks have got down to 20mg. But I have noticed some weird effects, feeling dizzy when standing up, sharp pain at the back of my eyes and feeling sick. Could this be the effects of coming off the preds?

I don't know, but I can say that dizziness is one of the main symptoms get when my hormones are not at the right level.

Hope those nasty things stop soon xxx

It might be, but you are coming off them nice and slow.

I weaned myself off last year, I wasn't too bad reducing, I'd have a couple of 'bad days' each time I reduced. I can relate to the sick feeling, I suffered a bit of joint pain too. Have a word with your GP though if it continues!.

Best to check with your GP.Feeling dizzy could be sign of low blood pressure., as could the sickness. Have you checked the contra indications leaflet in your steroid pack, for side effects its very long but worth checking Hope your feeling better soon xxxx Julie xxx

Take care, check with GP as others said, but sounds as though you are coming down sensibly xx

Hi Tina, Iv'e had the dizzy feeling when standing up and when reaching the top of the stairs etc. It happens so often Iv'e kind of got used to it.

My blood pressure is always ok so I kind of just live around it but maybe I just need to slow down.

I made it past the Elgar seat and too the pub last night in yet another record time. Its one of the hardest walks that I do, I have to get up 218 big steps on the final 3rd. I do 14 at a time and then pause for a recovery and so on untill I reach the pub at the top.

For some reason the pint always tastes amaizing when I get there, could it be something to do with my tongue dragging the floor.
