I've got a pain right hand right under my ribs, just came on last night when I went to bed, didn't feel ill now I feel like I've been kicked goes up into my shoulder does anyone think it's an infection.

hi kimmy, best to ring the helpline or gp to diagnose but those symptoms are similar to gallstone pain which spreads to just under the left shoulder blade on the left, can be a nasty pain too but it should pass after about half hour, do not worry just see gp, it could be pulled muscle.. I have not had that sort of pain with infections, that usually comes on slowly.

Correction....I mean right shoulder blade, had the gallbladder pain enough in the past but decided not to have gallbladder removed, cured the problem with correct eating, specially including raw green juices each.

Unfortunately the blf nurses are difficult to get hold of at this time of day. I would probably call in the morning.

Just to be on the safe side, why don't you give nhs111 a call.

I really hope someone on here can give you some advice, but we all have different symptoms at different times. If you get any worse call a doctor. I get pains under my ribs and pains in my back round the shoulder blades, but it has never been an infection. Hope you feel better soon x

Normally with a lung infection there is more than one symptom, if you have increased mucus and more difficult breathing, generally feeling unwell etc.

I would check in with your doctor, what you are describing could be any number of things.

Thanks to everyone for the advice I rang 111 and was surprised how quick they were, I've spoken to a very nice doctor. So hopefully I can just ring my respiratory team in the morning.

Yes, keep us posted, gallstone pain strikes at night mostly by the way !... drink plenty of water to help them pass ......

See my GP they squeezed me in, he thinks it's a Kidney infection or possible Gall Stones he's sending me for test. So I have AB's pain killers and cream.
