New asthma drugs?

There are biologic injections, depending on type of asthma.
As far as I know the latest one is tezepelumab (brand name Tezspire), a biologic injection for severe, intractable asthma. You can read about it here asthmaandlung.org.uk/sympto...
It became available last year.
My consultant is reviewing my current biologic & said he might swap me to this, as I still need my blue inhaler 4/5 times daily
I've been on Tezspire for 8 months. Its been a life changer! The nurses at the severe asthma clinic said that it is the most successful Biologic treatment to date! I am so grateful to have it. Hope you gey sorted soon
Oh, thanks! That’s great to hear. I’m on omalizumab (Xolair). That was a game changer when I started but it’s not working so well lately. Can’t wait to try Tezspire 😊
What are the side effects? Have you experienced weight gain on Tespire? That was one of the side effects of Dupixent. Massive weight gain.
Not experienced any side effects or weight gain. Its been brilliant. I noticed a difference the second day. Within a week I'd reduced salbutamol from 18-20 puffs a day to about 2 or 3. I recently has a chest infection (caught from my grandkid ..rife at nursery). I got antibiotics immediately and within days I was fine. In the past infections have led to hospital admissions! My husband, a non asthmatic , was worse than me! A wonder drug! Thank you the NHS and the wonderful asthma clinic at my local hospital
i have heard of the sublingual/subcutaneous immunotherapy, it’s like taking micrograms of serum daily or weekly that contain the things you are allergic to to cause desensitisation, so after a while you are no longer allergic to them (or less allergic).
I recently was prescribed Breztri. My lung function was down to 41%. But everything I read about it says it is for COPD? I don't know. I am so confused.
These triple med inhalers are now licensed to treat asthma. They contain a steroid, a long acting bronchodilator and a med that relaxes the lung muscles in a different way to the long acting bronchodilator.
