High Blood pressure

Has anyone noticed or been told their blood pressure is very high? I’ve never had a problem before but since using Fostair my blood pressure has gone sky high. Of course it may not have anything to do with Fostair.

When I (by mistake) take an extra dose of an inhaler that has a LABA, I also get higher than normal blood pressure.

Strangely, going on fostair reduced my blood pressure. I think all my asthma attacks were causing my blood pressure and heart rhythm problems, as when my asthma improved due to fostair, other issues reduced.

That’s interesting, looks like I will need to take bp meds. Thank you.

Omi679 Corticosteroids used in asthma inhalers can cause high blood pressure. It’s not just one brand of inhaler.

unfortunately I have a very variable blood pressure but when I’ve been in hospital during an exacerbation my blood pressure is always high to start with but that is probably the stress reaction from the attack

I wonder if taking yet another medication -- to control blood pressure -- is a good idea to compensate for the side offects of asthma medication. Somehow I refuse to deal with two cronic things at once, which is probably not a good thing. I have had high BP since age 20, now I am almost 50. Never took anything for it. I guess my blood vessels are of better quality than my lungs :).

My GP surgery puts patients on blood pressure meds without any investigation into the cause, and with little chance of coming off them unless the patient identifies the cause, does something to address it, does blood pressure readings, and updates the GP… sorry, ranting

Sounds like you have a GP who actually cares. :) I would always show elevated blood pressure during measurements, but was never offerred that medication. They prescribed it to me when I was 20, I took it for a few months, but then stopped caryibng for it when I've got plenty of other pills and ihhalers to take for asthma.
