I am taking Fostair 200/6, 2 puffs am and 2 puffs pm. Seems to be working quite well although still get coughing time to time. But, I have developed a running nose and wondered if any members have experienced this as a side effect. I also take Montelukast in the evenings. Seem to be getting a lot of ankle cramps in the night.
I wonder if these issues are connected to the meds ?

I have used Fostair 200/6 for some years. It is the top dose. I have not experienced any side effects. I have swollen ankles but that is a result of Amlodopine for blood pressure. You did need to relay this problem to your doctor -
If the runny nose started at the same time as you started taking Fostair, then it could be the cause. If it continues to affect your cough, definitely talk to your prescribing doctor so they can consider changing your inhaler.
It's not unusual to get cramps while taking combination inhalers as they can affect your potassium levels. This is highlighted in the patient leaflet that comes with the medication. You could eat more potassium rich foods to see if that helps. Otherwise, talk to your doctor as the patient leaflet does suggest that Drs should monitor your potassium levels. Low potassium affects how muscles function, hence the cramps, but it can also show up as palpitations. Supplements are not advised without strict medical supervision, as too much potassium can be dangerous. You're safe by eating a potassium rich diet.
