HiGone from fostair to trimbo and not sure if I like it, im currently eexperiencing awful asthma conditions, tight chest horrible cough, I'm so afraid of staying off work as my sickness last year was not great but is normally good.

Post nasal drip, reflux heitius hernia, underactive thyroid and sleep apnea, I feel 120 years old I've tried everything even alternative medicine, any suggestions please

Hi Myarabella. It would be a good idea to ring your nurse to see if you can swap back. Trimbow is like Fostair but it has an extra ingredient - Glycopyrronium bromide. You can get this in another inhaler - Seebri is one, which you can take alongside your Fostair.

I had Seebri alonside Fostair for a while. The Seebri was then swapped to Spivira Respimat.

These are not recommendations- I’m just pointing out that there are alternatives to Trimbow that might suit you better.

I can have some issues when I switch between inhalers, but they are not normally long lasting. Though one change I had to give up on.

You need to back to your medic, if you want some ideas of alternative inhalers ring asthma UK helpline on 0300 2225800, office hours.

Was there a reason your doctor changed your inhaler? You could request to go back to Fostair if that was working well for you. And if you need extra help then the doctor could prescribe the add on inhaler separately, such as Spiriva.

The amount of steroid in Trimbow is around half of the amount in Fostair 200/6 version, so it may be the issue with stepping down the amount of steroid you're having. If you were on Fostair 100/6 then the amounts are the same.

I found Montelukast helpful for my post nasal drip, but was on a steroid nasal spray which was also good. Keeping my weight down definitely helps with the hiatus hernia. And get your vitamin D levels checked if you have an underactive thyroid...mine were low and taking VitD3 really helps my immune system. I know what you mean about feeling older than your years! Here's a link re VitD3 and thyroid from Thyroid UK,

I hope you start to feel better soon.
