I can't use ventolin as it causes palpitations, to feel heart is going to fast. If they say chest is clear listening to her chest. Ask for a chest xray to find out what is going on. Good luck.

Re ventolin
Hi, did you mean to say this as a reply to GGChar's post about her daughter? You've created a new post instead of replying to her - you can reply here if you scroll down: healthunlocked.com/asthmalu...
I would say that Ventolin (salbutamol) often causes palpitations because of how it works, but please don't avoid just for that reason - untreated asthma itself can make your heart rate very fast too. It's not the most pleasant sensation I know, but if you need reliever for your asthma then it's best not to avoid using it. (Obviously I don't know your situation - if you have a heart condition etc then it's one to discuss with your GP etc about how to balance things).
RE the clear chest - plenty of asthmatics don't have a wheeze so may have a clear chest, and asthma tends not to show on chest X-ray.
I found the pump inhalers were bad for this but the dry powder and the dry powder Accuhaler is better, I had trouble with the gas propellant in the inhalers so mine are both dry powder with fewer side effects so it might be worth you trying one.
