What would be the best for itchy skin?

There is method to my madness posting here. For the last few weeks I've been suffering from itchy skin on my arms (think it's prickly heat). I was just wondering what lotions/creams to use which won't set my asthma off. I used one last night which was too smelly!

I use Epaderm cream. I buy it on Amazon, but you can get it in Boots & other chemists. I have a real problem with itchy skin (hives) & take fexofenadine daily, but Epaderm is brilliant when I get a flare. Don’t rub it in, just smooth it on. Huge 500ml pump dispenser lasts ages amazon.co.uk/Epaderm-811441...

hydrocortisone 1%. No smell, stops itching.

I have both asthma and eczema. I use Zerodouble, which is prescribed for me. It is just an emollient, but is free from additives such as perfume. Half the battle with eczema is not letting the skin dry out. Also keep well hydrated.

Aveeno here, or good old e45. If the moisturisers don’t work then steroid cream. I hope you get it sorted quickly

Hi it's not madness I've developed the same things on my legs, I'm not sure if it's due to the medications we are on. Be careful as trying different creams/lotions I found the grease then made it worse it agitated the prickly heat when I went back out in the sun.

For a few days I had to keep my legs out of the sun doubled my anti histamine but the thing that worked the best and fingers cross now gone, was pure aloe vera, from the plant itself not a bottle. From memory though I think you may be able to get one in a tube that doesn't have colourants or bad chemicals and smells in, but you can normally pick up an aloe plant from most garden centres and even cheaper garden sales.

I'm experimenting now with sun lotions and will let you know which one stops it.

I use Epiderm twice a day. Keep the skin moisturised with this and it will help no end!

I reacted to the cannula when having allergy testing done, as I couldn’t have antihistamines as it would have affected the tests they gave me calamine lotion from the fridge. The cool calamine lotion was amazing, it stopped it from itching. I use it now when I get heat rash as it really helps.
