Need my Singular

I have been on Singulair since 1998 & have lived like a normal person. I waited over 20 years for that. In April 2023, the drug was pulled from the market with no warning. I am now back to being miserable. I need to know if there is somewhere I can get Singulair back.

Hi, I note your profile says you're in the US. This is a UK-based forum, so people on here may not be able to help as we don't know your health system.

I take it it's the Singulair branded version you're looking for specifically, since montelukast (the generic name) is still available in the US as far as I can tell, and here in the UK. Do you know what it is about the Singulair brand specifically (eg does it contain/not contain something other than the medication)?

This will need to be a chat with your GP or asthma nurse and pharmacist, as we can't recommend buying prescription medications online without a prescription on this forum and any posts suggesting that will be edited/removed.

It does seem as though it's still widely available in the states as Lysistrata said. Was it your pharmacy or doctor who told you it's not?

It does cause severe psychiatric symptoms in some people so it has been given stricter and stricter labels and black box warnings over the past few years.

My daughter lives in the States, MA, and she uses singulair and can still get it prescibed. Is it possible that your insurance has stopped paying for the brand? ask for Montelukast 10mg, same drug. Although as said by others, in some people who are atopic the inert parts of the pill can cause allergies. I am fine with the generic though. Speak to your PCP, PA, or pulmonolgist if you have one, they will know.

Cheers
