Hi,Has anyone tried allergy bedding for asthma? Did you buy just bed sheets and duvet cover, or a duvet as well? Do they work?

Thanks for sharing your experiences!

I bought allergy pillow covers but I wash my bed linens weekly in hot water. I make sure to wet mop dust in bedroom and behind bed around radiators. I use an air cleaner.

I did not buy an encasement for my mattress as it’s a “sleep in air type” with hoses.

The bedroom should be the cleanest room in the home- we spend so much time there.

Yes good point about it needing to be the cleanest room. I might get an air purifier for the bedroom. When we moved here it was carpeted and we've not been able to afford new flooring yet but I am looking forward to that going just to be able to mop like you.

Have you noticed an improvement in your symptoms since having purifiers in your bedroom? We have one in the living room but I wonder if another in the bedroom would be good

don’t forget drying outside can bring in pollen!

I tried them but to be honest they did not make much difference. I have recently found out that one of my triggers is weather related. So at the moment I am in a vicious circle. The anti allergy ones are more expensive and as far as I am concerned don't really do anything

The trouble with asthma is it's personal isn't it and it takes such a long time to identify triggers. All the things that may help are costly and you can't be sure they help until you try. Sorry they didn't work for you.

if you hang linens outside make sure there's no pollen in the air, no other air pollutants like soot, ozone, or mold. These can ride into your home on the linens.

I have a niece who is allergic to cats. When she moved into an app art ent her allergies fired up. I suggested changing the filters in her a/c. They were filled with cat hair. She got relief with that action.
