Do u mean there are asthma/allergy symptoms after vaccination? If so it should be managed by oral steroids, antihistamine, Ventolin and theophylline. If not improved better go to A&E for urgent treatment, IV adrenaline and steroids may be needed.

As the info provided is not enough, these are what I can suggested.

Just a note to add that this person should be seeing a doctor even if not A&E, not taking any of this on their own. You may well have meant that anyway but I wanted to say it explicitly. Theophylline especially, while some people do take it regularly here, is not typically used in acute asthma in the UK.

Suggesting all these medicines without any medical diagnosis/examination is an absolute no-no! She has just mentioned "very sick" which is ambiguous. She should immediately visit her doctor for an examination.

Please report symptoms via the yellow card scheme. It is important that cases like this are logged. yellowcard.mhra.gov.uk

It's not at all clear this is due to the vaccine - there isn't enough information. They may mean they feel ill with COVID despite two previous vaccinations.

Hope you are feeling better, but not sure if you are saying its the vaccination or something else that you are unwell with ?

Hi Sunflower. It sounds like you should seek advice from either the 111 service or your own GP. You may require treatment over & above your usual asthma treatment. It's now known that some reactions to the covid vaccine should be reported and treated, where necessary. It's important fir your doctor to know what you're experiencing. Hope you feel better soon.

Can only repeat what others have said - not really enough information here to advise as it's not clear what the situation is, but please see a doctor or seek medical advice if you need to, whether you're reacting to the vaccine or to COVID or your asthma is bad for any reason.

Thank you very much for everyone for all your kind replies. I had my vaccine on last Friday at about 2 PM and I just couldn't fall asleep that night, at about 3 AM early morning I started to have very bad chills, really bad for 3 hours and then the same very bad covid symptoms as in January. This time it lasted only 3 days but I thought my world is up side down again. Sweating heavily, feverish, total lack of power, no appetite for anything, I was happy to grab my bottle of water next to me and drink very little from time to time. The 4-th day was a bit better, I felt it started to improve, but still no appetite, just very little food. On the 5-th day things started to improve visibly but still have chest pain and pain to my ribs. I started Clarithromycin 2 times a day after the second day of symptoms, yesterday I forgot to drink enough water, was quite dry outside and hot and on the top of that I was singing, my mood was back and somehow I put a strain to my vocal cords. Now I have a sore throat. I managed to reduce the pain by wrapping a hot towel around my neck and on the top a dry one. I'm feeling better, but not entirely. Well this is my story with the 2-nd dose. Not sure if I have enough courage to go through this all over again. I know I need a lot of rest, the question is if I can afford it. I can't describe how dreadful I felt. The fact is that in the covid year and last year as well I had no infection whatsoever. Since covid times I'm taking D vitamin, actually it's the spray, and Zn tablets, Mg. The dose of fostair of 100 I increased it as usual, based on Dr. indication in the past. The peakflow is the same, which is encouraging. I'll do some Buteiko exercises. Wonder if swimming will help that much after all this and to build it in my everyday life as something utterly important. Sorry for this awful long message. It's so good to see your messages and thank you all of you my dear friends in good times as well as bad.❤️❤️❤️

The severe reaction might be showing that your body is putting up a good defense against the virus.

I had suspected Covid right at the start, before testing. I had all the symptoms, and was so ill, I genuinely thought I was going to die for about 3 days, and it took me over 3 months to recover. Not that I ever recovered completely, because it also left me with asthma!

I was extremely poorly for about 3 days when I had my Covid jab (same symptoms I had when I had the suspected Covid, but not quite as bad and for a much shorter duration), while my husband barely had any symptoms - he just felt slightly tired and a bit shivery. But when we both went down with Covid in March this year, he was really ill and I was not nearly as bad. Made my asthma flare up but Covid-wise, I wasn't too bad at all.

So it may be that your extreme reaction to the jab means that you will be better protected against Covid in future.
