Is this low, medium or high?

How does this compare with people put on Xolair?

Thanks!

Hi Koala

265 is fairly high but it might qualify you for Xolair, I was put onto Xolair when my IgE was between 90-180. The manufacturer has its own dosage guide here gene.com/download/pdf/xolai... on page 4.

Depending on your weight you would qualify for a dose every 4 weeks. But NICE who designate treatment for the NHS have their own guidelines regarding suitability as it's a very expensive drug. It didn't work for me but if you check out the Asthma UK site there's plenty on there about other treatments.

Thanks that’s really helpful.

I’m currently 61kg but I was 55kg before the pandemic.

The consultant mentioned Biologics in the appointment and letter, but didn’t say which one. Considering I’ve got loads of allergies I suppose it’d be Xolair. It’s because Seretide has totally suppressed my adrenals etc.

Sorry to hear it didn’t work for you; I hope you find another medication that does.

thank you - it depends which one you get - it may depend on IgE, which is Xolair, or eosinophil levels which I think the others treat rest. I have the same issue regarding adrenal suppression so I sympathise. My eosinophil levels aren't bad enough for any of the others so I don't know what the plan is yet, awaiting my appointment next week with interest!
