Asthma flare up

Been a while since added anything as been under control. However so frustrated. After 2 sets of pred, and their side effects, I decided to venture out for a message with my daughter, bad move!, pf went back down and ended up at A&E then resus. No infection just unstable.

After 22 hrs in resus, no beds on wards, ended up on an "assessment unit", they need to take assessment out of the title. PF still same as when came in, nobody wants to know that had to take my salbutamol, or pf readings. Really feel better going home, and if it flares up again once I move and do things, come back and start again.

I should add phoned GP as per asthma plan (Tuesday) to be told use econsult, and after a battle with reception, was told the soonest I could speak to someone or be seen 10 days away!!

I know its a bad time of the year, and the NHS is working hard, but really worry, as having severe asthma which deteriorates quickly, what the future holds.

Sorry for the grumble, but been a long 48 hrs holed up in a basement in a hospital, and feeling I have been beaten up and exhausted.

How frustrating. I'm so sorry to hear it. Are you home yet? Breathing any easier? I hate the exact period you're describing of being in and out of the hospital and between appointments and miserable for relief. Sending calm vibes to your lungs.

Thanks. No still in hospital, finally had a respiratory doctor see me yesterday. On more nebs, and hopefully will see asthma nurse today. My only worry is that pf is going up, but as soon as they stop it goes down, and sense they are focused on a number rather than stability.

Thanks. Regrettably not. Made it into respiratory ward yesterday... Almost a week later. Was meant to be going unto aminophyline, then wasn't, and managed to have 2 attacks last night. So let's see what today brings.

PF all over the place, fine if I sit or stay in bed!
