Does anyone know how i go about getting tested to see if any allergies trigger off asthma? Don’t know if it’s a thing as I’m unsure what makes me chesty or tightness as I feel tightness randomly sometimes

Hi Levans Yes there are two tests for allergies. You can have a prick test (not as bad as it sounds) where you need to stop taking antihistamine prior to the test and there is a blood test, that does not require you to stop antihistamine.

I had prick testing done through my GP and later I had a blood test at the hospital

It's worth also bearing in mind that tightness can be caused by many things, not just asthma. Anxiety is a very common cause but all sorts of other things can cause it as well.

If you're in the UK then this is the NHS info on allergies: nhs.uk/conditions/allergies...

If your GP doesn't run tests or refer you to a specialist you have the option to go private. I definitely wouldn't buy a home testing kit though.

The old fashioned way of monitoring allergies is a diary, recording over time your symptoms, time of day they occurred, what you've eaten and what you've been exposed to.

Ask the Dr to make an appointment for you to be tested at hospital.
