Chest Tightness
For me it across the top of my chest above my boobs!! Pmsl
for me this happens when im starting an attack. it wraps around the top of my body under my armpits and across my chest. it gets tighter when the attack gets worse. i do however also get a heaviness on my chest when is very bad when im having an attack but i also have it less heavy most of the time.
Sounds stupid, but chest tightness is something that I find hard to pinpoint exactly where it is, for me its quite generalised and feels rather like wearing a corset that's been laced far to tight and getting tighter.
for me mostly across my back and then in worse case bit like the first, minus the boob reference PMSL
depends on how bad it is.
usually the bottom of my chest/ undermy ribs.
when its really bad i can kind of 'feel' my lungs if that makes any sense?
It's like wearing a bra that's too tight at the sides. A wee hug from unseen hands that squeeze tighter when walking in dry cold air.
Plus my back feels itchy from the inside at a point that is impossible to reach (except by the far end of a coat hanger at which point you discover all you're doing is making a scratch and it doesn't help at all) which tells me reach for the reliever.
I've only just been told I probably have asthma. I get tightness in the throat and just below rather than the chest. The worse I feel, the further down it goes towards the chest, really contricting me and making it hard to get breath. It's especially exacerbated by exercise and activity and I find the Ventolin doesn't always help a great deal. Could this be anything else or is it asthma?
realy annoying
Have come across this as i sit at work unable to draw a proper breath. asthma gone uncontrolled again - about to go to doc tom am. Chest tightness is a feeling as if the bottom half of my lungs are unable to move - anyone else feel this? if i try to breathe using more than the top third then horrid pain, coughing , eye watering - nightmare. So peak flow awful and leaves me unable to cough up any of the gunk being made from my chest infection Great - only fellow sufferers will know this . To all work colleagues I look normal.
I hate asthma
I feel like I can get air in and out ok of lungs on a good day but stil get small amount of pain.I get itchy throat and lungs first, then stabbing pains when air not moving properly through out lungs.I get pain in my back as well as front. And yep time to ditch the bra when it gets that bad!
I get pains in my back across my shoulder blades and my front across the top of my chest and I get an itchy neck and back - which i can't reach to scratch so get my other half to scatch my 'ashma itch' as I call it! I have a cold at the moment and have had a couple of sleepless nights because I've been really wheezy. I feel like I can't get enough air and I need to make myself breathe - if that makes sense!
i find it is across my back and across the front just above boobs but below neck line.
It often feels like i am being sat on just below my neck.
Now I have some answers thanks guys. I was planning on ditching the bras as my pain seem to be in those areas. I really thought it was my imagination and a little embrassed to mention it. The only pain I admitted to was the one radiating through the throat and middle area and back. Cos endless chest x-rays are not easy when your in pain.
gill
I get tightness around the middle -near rib area, my shoulder blades and my upper back area hurts. When I have acute exacerbations, it feels like I am wearing a big elastic band around my chest and I sit hunched forward because I can't sit up straight.
