Monday marked the expansion of the Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) across London, the next stop on the capital’s journey to cleaner air. In operation 24 hours day, seven days a week, excluding Christmas Day, the new zone will help to reduce the levels of toxic air benefit an extra 200,000 residents with asthma breathe in London by expanding to the North and South Circular. We welcome the news but there is more work to be done to protect hundreds of thousands of Londoners with asthma living outside the ULEZ, so we are calling on the Mayor of London to continue to do more to help bring cleaner air to those who need it.
