Had my bloods back - was told only thing of note was the white blood cell count of 17 which is high - I appreciate that mine will be high as I have allergies and I am on meds. Is this normal?

It's higher than "normal range" I think but you'd need to ask your doctor if they're concerned about it. I know that all sorts of things can cause wbc to be raised including stress and being on steroids. Presumably being on high doses of steroid or on long-term steroids would factor I your raised level. But your doctor would be able to answer specifically to you.

It is a bit on the high side even with allergies and meds like Pred. Have you got a minor infection going on?

I've had this - lymphocytes are very high, for years - poor dentistry etc. Eventually I found I still had helicobacter pylori (doctor thought he had dealt with it years ago) have just had a week of very unpleasant antibiotic treatment to get rid of it. I hope yours is something relatively simple.

Thank you for the replies. I have been coughing rubbish up but the family have had it as well. I am a bit concerned as besides the asthma I have had aching bones and joints for a couple of months - I have been getting pins and needles in my feet - my concern was vasculitis. My specialist is sending me for tests in relation to the nerves. I cannot even get through to my GP - my other concern was if it was something like lymphoma in the current climate it could take a long time to see someone but at the same time I would have thought my consultant would have spotted something.

Hope you are all well.

I had a letter from my consultant - apart from the eosiniphils my bloods are ok. I am going back next month for nerve conduction tests as I have been getting pins and needles in my feet ( hopefully I don't have vasculitis) - the consultant is slightly perplexed that my eosiniphils remain high despite being on benralizumab and prednisolone - the benra targets the eosiniphils for destruction.
