Interesting times!

Well things just get more ‘interesting’! We were invited to an unexpected Zoom yesterday evening at 8:15 to be told that there is a positive covid case in the school and to make plans. So from today, all of KS1 and 13 members of staff are self-isolating, leaving 4 KS2 classes and 5 teachers in school for the next 10 days.

I had to have a row with the head to be ‘allowed’ to wear a face covering (on doctor ‘s advice) and to get school to contact OH for me. I won the argument though - used the ‘l’ word - ‘liability’!

School is quite empty and feels less unsafe because of it.

Happy days!

I might be suggesting something you've already thought of, but would it be possible to contact your union rep? (Assuming you have one.) This is what my mum has done throughout the pandemic to keep me safe (she's my carer and I'm CEV).

Yes the dreaded covid is rife in all schools round where I live. My 6 year granddaughter is currently off school due to someone in her class (a pupil) testing positive. I'm glad you've managed to win the battle over the mask . Are you not able to stay off school too as covid has been identified? Do take care teachkat. x
