Fostair 100/6

Hi guys,

After all your stellar advice last time my Qvar was increased but it still did not help and I’ve now been on Fostair 1 puff twice a day. I have to say that although the steroid dose is lower than the Qvar it seems to be working pretty well! (Fingers crossed.) I’ve got another call booked with my AN to see if I need to go to Two puff or not. My chest tightness has gone pretty much completely and just seems to kick in towards the end of the 12 hours.

However, I seem to have developed itchy soles of my feet and it is driving me bonkers. Also I am so congested in the back of my throat and my nose which I am unsure if it is hay fever going mental. This started within about 2 days of taking the Fostair. I’m on Fexo 120mg. I take the Fostair through a spacer and gargle and brush my teeth afterwards. Otherwise my side effects seem to be minimal! I had some cracking cramps to begin with but they subsided pretty quickly

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Hi, I did take Qvar for a few years but now I am on pulmicort 200 powder inhaler as the Qvar didn’t help me through hay fever season. They said I may have built up a tolerance to it. I then became allergic to the propellant inhalers so only have powder now. They work ok.I think it takes me about three months to get used to a new inhaler though as I had side effects at first, which made me feel wheezy and worse than I felt already.

Hope you are ok. Avamys is a good nasal spray for hayfever too.

Yes was going to suggest a nasal spray. Also sinus rinses are good for allergies - use before nasal spray and it helps to keep the nose clear of allergens. Some still get in but they do reduce it.

Not sure re the itching but maybe a different antihamine (fexo may be prescription only but it's not the right one for everyone) or a bigger dose?
