Hi - I’m 3-4 months in to suspected asthma, no tests/X-ray as yet. No referral to any specialist nurse etc. Currently on fostair 100/6 plus fexofanadine and beclometasone nasal spray. My question is when I do PF the first reading can be 100-150 higher than the 2 after, which should I be recording? Feel the lower reading is more in line with how I feel. Thanks in advance

It's the highest of the three. This post is good run down of all things Peak Flow in case it's helpful.

You won't get a referral to a specialist nurse as such - usually a GP surgery will have an asthma nurse though who you may see.
Thank you, don’t think our practice has a nurse, but not sure. I sort of meant have only dealt with GP, who has been fab.
Unless things become requiring a hospital consultant then it should just be GP care. Some asthma nurses are amazing - others are a nurse with that title bit not necessarily the expertise. Or maybe like yours don't exist! But if your GP is good that's fine. Any dealings with my surgery is my GP (for me). The nurse is lovely but my asthma is a pain so the GP handles it. So whatever works basically!
Record the highest.
However, my consultant had an interesting take on this and said that if it is falling a lot for the 2nd, 3rd go that shows that your airways are sensitive even to the action of blowing. He always worked on the highest score but listened to the ins and outs of what I said and was much happier when it was properly stable.
I've only heard this response from my consultant and have been cut off by asthma nurses for explaining the same thing, my GP surgery stick rigidly to the highest score.
Personally I put this down to experience on the consultants part but have never heard it from anyone else.
