Hi Sarah , Corona 19 is a relatively mild disease . The main factors dictating the outcome for a sufferer are age and weight , in that the elderly and overweight are adversely affected . There is evidence that it hits diabetics hard too . However I have not seen any evidence that asthmatics are at higher risk . Speaking personally , I have had Covid and was ill for a week . Im 65 and 40lb over weight so would fall in the vulnerable category . It was about the same as having flu , and did not trigger my asthma , unlike a recent cold has . This is only my personal experience of course .

I agree. Haven’t had it myself but from reports asthma isn’t the risk factor they thought it was, with most people reacting similar to those in their age group, whilst diabetics tend to fair a lot worse. There has even been some thoughts that controlled asthmatics fair better due to the ICS tho I’m not sure if any research has been done into this yet, or if it’s just hearsay. But if you have COVID your most likely going to have the same journey as those without asthma (ie some are fine all the time, some have big short term issues then are fine, some are fine but then have long term problems)

Hope you stay well and that it is a short experience for you!

I have had Covid19. I have moderately severe asthma. I haven't had flu before. My experience of Covid was much worse than the cold I get every winter that goes to my chest. I had fever, headache and fatigue for 10 days. I had a dry cough for 6 weeks. But like Griffon, Covid 19 did not trigger my asthma.

But everyone's experience of Covid and potentially long Covid will be different.

I am experiencing fatigue. I put this down to long covid. Blood tests showed I was low in vitamin D.

Do you have Covid now ?
