Hi have noticed that the last 5 or 6 weeks since my last major flare (3 courses of steroids) I’ve been having what feels like pressure/mild pain just under clavical area. Worse at night Breath catches a bit and sleep is atrocious. Has anyone got experience of anything similar?

On montelukast and seritide 4 x 2 puffs a day, as well as diabetic and hbp.

Hi duran, sorry to hear that you are in pain.

It's sounds a bit like pleurisy, happened sometimes after a chest infection, it's somehow makes its rounds at the moment with lots of people. Is it a stabbing pain, or dull burning pain, special when coughing or sneezing but also deep breath. It could be.

It's quite uncomfortable and takes time to leave you again, pain medication is the only thing that will help, sometimes the GP give something else if it gets worse. I had it last year pretty uncomfortable, but it went away after a while, paracetamol was my best friend to this time and I managed it. Pleurisy is a inflammation of the membrane around the lungs. Try some painkiller if it helps than its might be pleurisy .But better is to check of course with your GP maybe a quick call to speak with her or him. Get well soon again and stay safe!! 🌹🌹🌹

I've not experienced pain under the collar bone - that's quite high up. It's amazing how we can injure ourselves with something as simple as breathing. Normally I can pull a rib muscle (sneezing, coughing or vomiting) which can be very uncomfortable, whether breathing or moving. Last time I ended up on codeine in order to get some relief and sleep.

I saw my GP and had a scan to make sure it wasn't anything nasty. Took months to wear off.

I would seek better pain relief from your GP and get it checked out as it's clearly affecting your quality of life.

It could just be a pulled muscle or asthma still not settled after your recent issues - as opposed to an additional problem I mean. Particularly if it's worse at night, as that can be common in asthma. If it's a few weeks since your steroids then the reduction or finishing of those combined with high pollen levels (which seem to be affecting people more this year, even those who don't normally suffer that way) might be causing lingering issues perhaps?

But speaking to a GP might be useful if you can like Poobah suggests.
