I was wondering how long the dreaded “C” symptoms have been lasting for people on here?? Obviously like most, I have no idea whether I’ve got it or not but I started getting a very dry throat / cough 5 weeks ago and since then it’s been up and down. One minute getting better, one minute getting worse. My chest at the worse periods got really tight but not bad enough to go to hospital- but definitely very uncomfortable and making me a bit nervous with everything going on. I also picked up a mild chest infection which I’m on antibiotics for now. After two days on antibiotics I definitely feel better (cough has reduced) but I’m waking up in the middle of the night with the dryest mouth / throat I’ve ever had AGAIN (it didn’t feel as dry two days ago). Which is what was happening before cough started originally. Dry throat.. then dry cough. It may be the antibiotics but I wanted to see whether anyone else has experienced this super long dry throat? Thanks

Hi
I started with flu? in the middle of January. I say flu, it was a lot worse than a cold but not as bad as normal flu. I had a horrendous cough, but my asthma shows with a cough rather than a tight chest so I didn't think much about it, just doubled my Symbicort as per instructions. I thought I'd got rid of it, but within a week I started with a cold with a dry, sore throat. My nose was stuffed up so I thought I'd been sleeping with my mouth open, but my throat was verging on painful rather than just dry. Eventually it went & then it started again. This time I had a really bad cough again. It was different from my normal asthma cough, sort of more rumbly & back came the throat. Thought it had gone, apart from the throat but hubby had had a bad cold,or something, which had left him deaf so I'd been shouting a fair bit. Then I started again, but thankfully I think it's really gone now. My throat is normal & hubby's antibiotics have helped his ears so I'm only talking loudly rather than shouting. I can't say I've felt ill, apart from the flu? it's just been a real nuisance.
Not quite the same as your experience, but that's what I've had. I hope you get better soon. I prescribe chocolate, it soothes the throat. At least that's my excuse!
Hi I also have a dry cough but not really a sore throat and due to having a lung operation every winter/ cold weather spell I get the rubbish on my chest so I can't really give a clear time as due to the normal winter time I first got this back in November but it never cleared up like it normally does by now but in the last 2-3 weeks it's been going up and down but we did have a season change I am a smoker ( odly enough a GP told me don't quite until I am stress free as it stops me from having epilepsy fits if stressed) and I have a dog so I got some antihistamine that I knew I was Safe to use and as I can only use a reliever (blue inhaler) I upped my dose and I also included a few days in bed the cough is still with me but like you it's up and down but I'm working on everything I had to do last year before saying ok maybe I somehow got the covid which I would be surprised as I live alone and only go out if I must and I keep to myself.
I’ve had a dry throat and mouth since November.
In March last year i had this, like you said breathing problems but not bad enough for hospital. But after about 5 weeks it was bad enough and had to call ambulance, it felt like my lungs were clear and no mucus, they gave prednisolone but said oxygen levels were fine and I felt like I could breathe. Must be covid never had this dry mouth stuff and and restricted breathing for weeks.
Now in November I got this insane dryness in throat got some pred and antis. Was waking up at night continuously for a few weeks sweating and with a dry mouth. Been fatigued since then but getting stronger. Last week breathing tighter and was given montelukast
