Coronavirus and Asthma

Hi everyone,

I’m young (21) and have had asthma my entire life. It was bad when I was very young, but in my teenage years it just became mild. Besides asthma (and anxiety) I am otherwise healthy.

I was wondering how someone like me would fare with coronavirus if I got it.

It’s a good idea not to find out!

On a more serious note.

This is a sometimes very severe respiratory disease. If you were to catch it, I think the worry is that your asthma would also flare up causing additional problems.

However, if you stay home as much as possible and practice stringent social distancing, you should be fine.

You are young, so taking 3 months out of your life to stay safe isn’t a big deal.

You will have another 70+ years to make up for lost time.

Stay safe
