Will asthmatics be included in the vulnerable list to isolate with the over 70s?

I keep seeing mixed reports some only mention over 70s, some day underlying health conditions, some say vulnerable but I can’t find anywhere that has a confirmed list.

If we’re on it I’d like to know now just to start mentally preparing for this as 4 months feels very different to a couple of weeks. Has anyone seen a confirmed list?

I heard on the tv ( Matt Hancock, I think) that it would be over 70’s and those with respiratory problems.

And those who have a compromised immune system.

How on earth are we supposed to manage this! I have two children, both with autism (14 and 11). It would be a bit easier if I had family near by but I don't. Their father could help a bit, but that's about it. This is going to be very difficult. Don't get me wrong, I am worried about catching the disease. But I just don't know how I would manage with two children reliant on me. :-(

Hi all,

I am new to this forum.

I would really appreciate if anyone finds out, please post the advice or post a link?

I am trying to follow news and keep up with developments but I am struggling to work out if self isolation applies to me .... I am 54 with moderate asthma.

I also have chronic mental health conditions so the whole situation is triggering anxiety etc.

I have relatives who have died from asthma so it's scary etc.

Many thanks.

I would like to know too, I'm guessing it would apply to people with moderate asthma and worse. I have only mild asthma so think I would be ok and shouldn't have to just isolate myself yet, but it's still the unknown which is worrying and if I get it how bad should I expect it to affect me.

Really feel for all the worser asthma sufferers, I feel quite anxious at this time so can only imagine how you guys must feel. Stay safe and try and stay calm, and hopefully everyone gets through this ok. We are all in the same boat with the virus, so good idea to tell neighbours etc that you are asthmatic and more at risk if they don't know, so they can help check up on you.

I have asthma, but I have been brought down from a much higher inhaler and dosage over the last couple of years to the point where my plan is: one puff Seretide 50 each morning and night and take 1 montelukast 10mg tblet at night. I carry my emergancy Salbutamol with me at all times. I haven't had a review since last year... Stress seems to affect my asthma - so I'm wondering am I " vulnerable" as I'm 65 now... It's not really very clear and I don't want to bother the health centre when they will already be under pressure. Any information anyone?

I too wonder this! Nothing official has been said about who exactly are class as vulnerable which is so frustrating! I suffer from asthma and my major triggers are hay fever (I suffer from this severely) and viruses, so not a good combination if I was to catch this virus this time of year! I also work in a nursery... so I was wondering about this whole self isolation thing! At the moment I’m just trying to look after myself as best I can and waiting for official advice x
