Reslizumab Side Effects

Hi all

I have had 8 infusions of Reslizumab so far and one of the issues I am having is aching shoulders/neck which I initially put down to other things (sitting at my desk, sleeping awkwardly etc) but I am quite convinced it is related to the treatment.

Has anyone else who is having Reslizumab had the same aches and pains in their shoulders/neck?

Hi

I get general aches and pains, (usually) minor headaches and just general tiredness. For me they’re a lot more mild than when I was mepo so I’m happy to put up with it 😅 (as well as the asthma issue and hives/angiodema I get on the day of the jab)

Hope that helps. If it has a big impact talk to the nurse stabbing you and see what they advise...

Thanks for your reply. My worry is that if I mention it, the hospital (Brompton) will stop it. I was on Mepo, I had 4 injections and happen to mention to them that I had had a rash (that had gone by the time I was due my next injection) and they decided to stop it. I mentioned the aching after my first infusion and they took it very seriously, blood tests, doctor examining me. If they do stop it, it takes months before they make a decision to start on a new biologic and I don't want another 3 month delay. So it's weighing up putting up with it versus the improvement, albeit very small so far.

Hope the treatment is helping with your asthma x

interesting that they took your aching seriously! they didn't accept that the Mepo I was taking had anything to do with my muscle weakness and aching!

Hi, I have severe eosinophilic asthma and I’m under the Royal Brompton hospital for biological treatment too. I’m on my 3rd different type of injections, I’m on metro now. Was in hospital 6 weeks ago for an acute attack of asthma. It was frightening! I’m now having problems renewing my Blue Badge and I’m going for an independent mobility assessment on Friday. I hope you’re stable and feeling ok? X
