Hi I went to the doctors this week and have been diagnosed with asthma. I had a breathing test that absolutely killed my chest and shoulder blade on the left side . Is this a symptom of asthma? Iv felt like this for a while now and recently it has got worse. Iv been given a brown preventor inhaler and a blue inhaler. Iv been using the blue 5 to 6 times a day.

Newly diagnosed asthma with pains.
I have a tight chest and pain in left shoulder blade, and still have not found a good preventer, Im currently on symbicort its a little better but its coming on the warmer side here in Australia and currently have bush fires around where I live so my asthma, has flared up a little I don't get a wheeze or cough just a tight chest and pain in shoulder, it sounds like your asthma might not be under control, might have to see your GP and change your preventer it is a hit and miss trying to find what works.
Thankyou for your reply. I will keep my eye on it. This morning was really cold when walking to work and I had to use my blue inhaler before leaving the house and again when I arrived at my destination. I felt like I couldn't breathe in enough air when I arrived. Iv used it twice more through the day today. Its easing slightly.
I think when you cough vigorously you can put all sorts of pressures on your nerves and muscles. I get some terrible pains at times. On one occasion many years ago I was utterly convinced I’d had a heart attack it was so bad, & called for emergency medical help. Only to be told I’d pulled a muscle coughing! So it is a problem but hopefully one that will ease as you start to get your symptoms under control.
Thanks for your reply. This evening iv started to feel a bit better. Iv been drinking hot water with squeezed lemon and some sliced ginger. A friend told me about it today at work. She said it helps with inflammation.
