Hi, I currently have a chest infection and my gp has suggested that I should not have my mepo. injection. Anyone have any experience? Don't want to miss it unless absolutely necessary . Thanks

Hi

From my own experience (xolair, Mepo and benra) you’re not meant to have any biologic if you’re currently ill. Contact the team that stabs you and double check 😉 (your AN will know). You don’t want to go in and then be told you can’t have (which is what I did once)

Thanks. Will contact my respiratory nurse. Not what I wanted to hear. First month of self administration 😪

How long have you been having the injection and how did you manage to arrange to self administer? My daughter having her 3rd this week, it would be good to move to either self administor or via doctor in the coming months.

Hope you get to have yours.

Have been on it since December. Great help. Self administration has just been approved in last month or so. In my hospital started last week x

I was still given my Xolair injections when I had chest infections, even when I had a bout of pneumonia. I have been on Nucala since May 2017 and been clear of chest infections and asthma exacerbations since.
