Mepolizumab
Hi, I had an incredible 8 months then started to need steroids again. Initially I was reducing steroids and then stopped completely. Once the steroids stopped the symptoms came back. Since starting Mepo I have slightly fewer courses of pred, for less time and better in between so overall improvement. Hope this helps .
I have been on mepo for two years and my asthma condition has improved significantly. I had a bad asthma issue six months after I started but feel great now with no steroids nor chest infections. Give it time for the medication to kick in. Hope that helps
Hello 😃 I am on mepolizumab injections and you right it was good and it has improved some of my asthma, firstly I didn't get any chest infections and didn't took steroids over a year now. What is great. 😏
But my breathing is not great ATM I had 24% lung volume back last year, now it's 15%
Not very good... Spoken to my doctor in hospital who always comes over when I get my injection to see how I getting on.
So I still should continue the injection because I had no attack or bad infections and even better no steroids
I got my Fostair inhaler updated to 200/6 now. If it is not improving by end of year I should consider to get a lung transplant. Because there is nothing else he can do to help me with my breathlessness. I wish you well that your doctor maybe change something that it will improve. 🌹🌹🌹
Hi just to say I am on mepo injections .have had 3 so far .no side effects.feeling great .also started to swim most days so have lost weight .is it mepo or weight loss .time will tell .
Hi, I have been on Mepolizumab just over a year. Before that, I tried xoliar but it made my symptoms worse. The mepo took about 6-7 months to see an improvement during which time I still took a few courses of steroids. My last course was around jan / feb this year.
Just recently, I have felt my symptoms worsen. However, I think this is due to a combination of triggers: severe stress, worsening of another health condition, pollen, close weather and increased exposure to dust because of decorating / diy work. I don't think it is the mepo not working quite as well and i am holding back from starting the steroids.
A chest infection is a pretty major trigger of worsening asthma symptoms imo. It can take weeks or months to get over it. So this could be a reason why your symptoms have increased and not necessarily because the mepo is no longer as effective for you.
I hope you feel better soon
